Compassionate Science

The world without compassionate scientists would be a world without a heart. This meaning that the studies that the scientist we trust, will become corrupt. Scientists without a heart will work only because they are interested in a pay check and a material outcome. The passion in creating happiness through technology would be long gone. A world without compassionate scientists is a world I do not want to live. I am not very interested in fulfilling a career in technology, but I still admire and am mesmerized by what our technology can do. I would not want a career in technology, but for those who do like that field and wish to become something out of it, I believe that they are our hope for a better world. With a big heart anyone can create happiness to those who need it. For example, in the short video we recently watched, Mike strived to bring back the happiness of those who lost their limbs. He created a way for them to have prosthetics and be able to live the life they once had before. A scientists who does their studies and creates new ideas not for themselves, but to bring hope into another persons life is what should be looked upon in a scientist. A selfish less scientist can create a whole new world with just one creation of hope. If more scientist, like Mike existed, our world would be a world of love and hope and instead of heading backwards in technology, we would be moving forward and creating long lasting memories of compassion.

The Future

The future in ten to twenty years will not be any different from today. There will still be cars that run on  gas, the drought here in California will still continue and maybe even worsen, pollution will still exist, and the world will only be getting warmer. I think that many people give to much hype to the future. I believe that the future only repeats prior events, maybe not exactly the same way but in similar forms. One thing that I do believe will change within ten to twenty years will be the fashion. Fashion always changes no matter what. Even if some styles stay, most of the times new trends begin and change the way people dress. Hopefully by then, women clothing is not as revealing as it is now. In the next ten to twenty years music will change. Artists will either rise or be forgotten by most of us. I believe that CDs will soon fade away within that time and maybe we'll all have to use netflix or something to continue watching our favorite movies like now. I believe that bands such as The Ramones, The Beatles, The Cure, The Smiths, The Doors, AC/DC, etc, will be unknown to the young generation of that time. Since the younger generation of now seems careless enough, and acknowledge a very different taste in music. I believe that the majority of the things we see everyday will continue to stay the same and not really change. The future is only going to be different depending if we fulfill what we believed to achieve when we were seniors attending High School. Hopefully within ten to twenty years my future is nothing like what i believe my society's future will be like.

One Time I Laughed Really Really Hard

There was this one time in class where my friend made a very funny joke about our school nurses. Everyone knows that at our school the nurse always gives you an ice pack no matter what the situation may be. If your head is hurting, you get an ice pack. If you threw up, you get an ice pack. Even if you are throwing up, you'll get an ice pack. So this one time in class, something was going on with one of the students in my class. I honestly don't know what it was that she went through in that moment, but it was serious enough to get the nurse. So as the nurse came, we continued the class. Suddenly, the nurse finally got there, and the first thing i see is an ice pack, like seriously an ice pack? As i saw the ice pack i told my friends to look and see that the nurses do really just give you ice packs. My friends and I bursted into laughter because an ice pack doesn't fix anything, you can be dying and these nurses will literally give you an ice pack! To some what we saw and related to might have seen dumb, but to us we found it super hilarious and bursted into a laugh attack that probably lasted about two minutes.

Modern Times

The movie Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin, actually made me realize that silent films aren't as I thought they were. Before watching this movie, I  use to think that silent films were just boring since they had no color nor any sound, but with this movie, I was proven wrong. Modern Times showed me that you don't need color or sound to entertain an audience. Sometimes having it without sound makes it more important since the moments that sound does come out, it may be something that the director is trying to make us think about and reflect on. I actually enjoyed this movie. Not only that, but it was very comical as well. What I liked about the humor in the film was that it wasn't forced into being funny. The comical scenes seemed as if it just came naturally and that is what I liked because now a days, some movies don't provide that natural humor to cinema. Overall, this movie was very entertaining and I am glad that I came across it.
